Innamorata by Ava Reid is gothic romantasy soaked in plague, conquest, and inherited violence… and somehow still makes room for love.

A decadently dark gothic fantasy for readers who love “haunting atmospheres, morally tangled characters, and stories where love becomes doom” (Booklist, starred review), the first in a duology from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of A Study in Drowning and Lady Macbeth.

“Gorgeously gruesome . . . reads like the gory bones of a forgotten folktale.”—Jacqueline Carey, New York Times bestselling author of the Kushiel’s Legacy series

About
Moniqua

2.png

Creating captivating worlds from
magical to mystery,
from epic love
to dark and twisty
and every titillating moment in between.

Moniqua Plante is a Spanish-French American audiobook narrator and award-winning actress with over 25 years of on-camera and theatrical experience from TV series leads to writing, producing and starring in award winning indie films.

Her sultry, strong, and playful voice has an underlying vulnerability that will take you on an action-packed adventure with a badass heroine or lure you into an epic erotic romance. Her low tones can conjure a magical coven of witches or a cool calculated killer. She loves narrating rebellious characters with a lot of snark and smarts, who reserve their soft underbelly for those who deserve to feel it.

Born and raised in Northern California with detours in the Colorado Rockies and Madrid, Spain—she's a little bit hippie, a little bit rock 'n roll with a penchant for music, fashion, food, and film.  An avid snowboarder, surfer, hiker, and yogi, Moniqua is also a Certified Health and Life Coach.

When not narrating, you'll find her exploring the outdoors, traveling to new places, sharing good food and even better wine with friends, or curled up with a good book. She currently lives, loves, and works in Venice Beach, CA.

So They Say...

"Though her protagonist holds everything in, narrator MONIQUA PLANTE is a direct conduit to her brain, which worries over traumas absorbed from her mentally-ill mother and Russian Jewish grandmother, her growing pill addiction, and whatever happened to her toxic fireball of a sister, who’s gone missing.
